At Aquaria, we value aquatic plants not simply for their rarity, but for their ability to be grown, appreciated, and enjoyed over time.
Focusing on Rare and Special Plants Not Commonly Distributed
Aquaria has long offered rare and hard-to-find aquatic plants, both domestically and internationally.
Moving forward, we are expanding our collection with an even stronger focus on special plants that are not generally available in the market.
We carefully select plants that are not only rare, but also rewarding to grow—plants that reveal their beauty as they mature and flourish underwater.
Only Plants Grown and Finished In-House Are Offered
Every plant sold at Aquaria has been grown and fully finished by us.
We observe how each one responds to its environment, and how its appearance evolves over time.
Only plants that have clearly reached a beautiful and stable underwater form are offered.
All of our aquatic plants are grown from seed or carefully propagated through cutting or division—none are derived from tissue culture.
Our Stance on Tissue Culture Plants
At present, Aquaria does not offer tissue culture plants.
Tissue culture propagation often involves cloning, which can lead to reduced environmental adaptability, instability in roots or stems due to hormone treatment, and the weakening of original characteristics through artificial selection. These factors frequently result in unstable growth when placed underwater.
Vivid colors and white expressions often seen in tissue culture plants may not be reliably reproduced underwater, and their appearance after cultivation can differ significantly from how they initially look.
While tissue culture is a valuable technique for large-scale production and pest control,
for those who truly wish to grow and refine the beauty of aquatic plants, it can lack the strength, natural elegance, and satisfaction that come from cultivating living specimens.
The Aquaria Standard
At Aquaria, we prioritize plants that retain their beauty even after growing—plants that are stable, thriving, and visually refined under water.
